ABOUT CRETE

Crete is the largest of the Greek islands, one of the thirteen peripheries of Greece and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea; the capital Heraklion is a dynamic city, the fifth largest in Greece.

Crete is renowned for its natural beauty and diverse landscape. Spectacular mountains are sliced by impressive gorges that spill out to the sea, while infinite plateaus and fertile champaigns form its interior and stunning endless beaches and isolated coves paint its 1046 km coastline.

Crete’s traditional villages, cultural heritage (dialect, drinks, dances, music) and significant ancient history; being the center of Europe´s most ancient civilization; the Minoan; form some of the reasons that Crete is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.

Hersonissos, is a traditional and picturesque town in the north of Crete, situated 26 km east of Heraklion. Hersonissos offers a great variety of accommodation, two sandy beaches, traditional and international cuisine restaurants, souvenir shops and a famous nightlife.
