TRAVEL INFORMATION

Air

Direct flights from several European cities to the N. Kazantzakis international airport in Heraklion, Crete or connecting international flights via the Athens El. Venizelos international airport operate daily.

Olympic and Aegean Airlines, have at least five flights daily to Athens El. Venizelos airport and from HerIaklion’s Nikos Kazantzakis airport (flight duration~50 min).

Sea:


Ferries operate each way between Heraklion port and Piraeus port (duration ~ 5- 6 hours with High Speed Vessels).

Land:


Getting around Athens. From/to Athens El. Venizelos airport to/from Piraeus port public transportation (metro or suburban railway) operates frequently and taxi transport is safe and affordable (duration ~50 minutes).


Getting around Crete. From/to Heraklion N. Kazantzakis airport or from/to the Heraklion port to/from the Conference Venue free courtesy van (upon arrival and departure of the participants) will be offered.


Public buses operate frequently and taxi transport is safe and affordable

CURRENCY

The currency in Greece is EUR (€).


Bank facilities are available near the Conference Venue and major credit cards are accepted by most businesses.
